Gary Keith Kidder, 83, of San Antonio, passed away on April 16, 2015. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 10:15am.
Gary was born in Ilion, New York, to Keith and Ione Kidder on October 13, 1931. He graduated from Ilion High School in 1950, and, at 18 years old, was signed to a professional baseball team, the Poughkeepsie Chiefs. He went on to serve in the Air Force, including Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1976 as Chief Master Sergeant. Gary led major military personnel automation initiatives for the Air Force, and afterwards in corporate and civil service programs, retiring a second time from Federal Civilian Service in 1997.
Gary is survived by his partner, Cheryl Fuller; his sons, Sam and Dale; daughters, Robin and Jackie; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Dorothy; and son, Steven.
Though a true Yankee, Gary considered Texas his home, with over 50 years in the State and many personal and professional ties to Randolph Air Force Base. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
Gratitude is extended for the exceptional care provided by Franklin Park, Sonterra, Assisted Living, and VITAS hospice caregivers.

It is with sincere sympathy that I write this note to all of
Gary's family and friends. He and I were good friends in Ilion High School and continued to keep in touch, but not as often as I would have hoped for. Barney Conway was his good friend and he let me know of Gary's passing. I had hoped so much that he would be at our 65th reunion in July. He will be with all of us in our prayers and when we sing "We'll Meet Again, don't know where, don't know when " Have a good trip, Gary!

Gary, my St Louis Cardinal buddy, and yes we did some great work together. There might have even been some lively partying as well. RIP my friend. John Erb
