Tomes, Calvin, 92, passed away January 23, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Carolyn Corker Tomes; grandson, Benjamin Bradlee Weiss; parents, Elbert and Lois Cox Tomes; and siblings, Cleo Tomes Renfrow, Corene Tomes Embry, George Tomes, Gertie Tomes Tarrance, Grady Tomes, Leah Tomes Dearing and Pauline Tomes.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lois Herden (Richard) and Debbie McGillicuddy (Tom); stepson, John Rhines (Joan); grandchildren, Seth Weiss, Jeremy Weiss (Maggie), Aaron Scarborough, Katie Scarborough and Justin Leibowitz (Lyndz); great-grandchildren, Shiloh Weiss and Sophia Weiss; sister-in-law, Patricia Tomes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Calvin can be made to Hosparus of Louisville or the Kentucky Humane Society.

We are truly truly sorry. Our prayers are with you all. We will miss Calvin a great deal.We have never met a more honest and caring man in our life. We are going to miss all his great and funny life stories. God bless you all and you all are in our prayers . We love you Calvin and you will always be in our hearts. Miss you so much.
