Carl F. Goecks, 90 of Coarsegold, CA, formerly of Monroe, WI passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Oakhurst Healthcare and Wellness Center, Oakhurst, CA.

Carl was born May 29, 1926 in Juda, WI, the son of Julius and Anna (Jordan) Goecks. He attended rural Juda schools and Franklin High School in Los Angeles, CA.

Carl enlisted in the Navy in 1943, serving as a coxswain in the Pacific Theater. He served aboard the USS Dempsey and was honorably discharged in 1946.

Carl and Bonetha Ferguson were married on June 21, 1952 in Monroe, WI.

In June of 1968 Carl moved his family from Monroe, WI to El Monte, CA then in 1970 they bought a home in Whittier until retiring late in 1987 retired to Coarsegold.

Carl worked as a fuel oil driver for 18 years and then the US Post Office in Monroe and Whittier for 23 years.

He was a faithful member of the New Apostolic Church where he was ordained as a minister in 1952, serving the Lord until his retirement in 1996 after 44 years. He sang in the church choir for many years and also served as an usher after retirement.

On May 31, 2004 Carl and 11 other Veterans from Madera County were awarded their high school diplomas as part of Operation Recognition. These WWII Veterans dropped out of high school in order to serve in the armed forces.

Carl is survived by three children; Jon (Marjorie) Goecks, of Bellflower, CA, Alan Goecks of Coarsegold, CA, Carla Goecks of Bellflower, CA; daughter-in-law Karen Reddick of Dubuque, IA; a special grandson, Brandon Goecks of Monroe, WI; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Julius (Joe) of San Juan Capistrano and Donald (Brigitte) of Los Angeles, CA, and a sister-in-law, Vicki Leuenberger of Brodhead, WI.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bonetha in 2004, his parents, mother Anna in 1929, father Julius in 1967 and mother Margaret in 1969, six brothers Arthur, Harold, Ervin, Marvin, Rueben and Willis; sister Caroline, son Greg Reddick and grandson Justin Alan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the New Apostolic Church, 4505 E. Gettysburg, Fresno, CA 93721 at 1:00 p.m. Evangelist Ron Saake will officiate.

Carl will have a military burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:30.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Anaheim, CA in January 2017 with the date and time to be announced.
