Carl Thomas Smelley, 93, passed February 21, 2014; born December 17, 1920 in Commerce, GA. He was a WWII veteran, a Mason and a Shriner, retiring from management at General Motors.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rachel; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Michael Smith; grandchildren Brittany and Byron.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, February 24th. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm followed by a memorial service at 2pm in the Chapel at John’s Creek Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Johns Creek Baptist Church, 6910 McGinnis Ferry Rd., Johns Creek, GA 30005.

1973 I met Carl for first time, when I worked for him as a Millwright at GM Doraville. He was a dedicated worker/ Supervisor.
