Carl Wm. Phillips
November 9, 1930 - June 16, 2017
Carl Wm. Phillips passed away at home on Friday, June 16, with his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret, by his side. Carl is the beloved father of Peggy Phillips, Terry Phillips, and Robin Haffer; father-in-law and friend to Rob Haffer; devoted grandfather of Joshua, Brittany, Kyle, and Shelby; and great-grandfather to Joshua and Gabriel.
Carl was born in Atoka, Oklahoma on November 9, 1930. He served as a Staff Sgt. in the US Air Force and as an officer with the Alameda Co. Sheriff's department, before retiring as a Lieutenant from the City of Fremont Police Department after 25 years of service. He and Margaret moved to Placerville in 1985. Carl was a Master Wood Turner and an avid competition pistol shooter. In addition, he had a great interest in genealogy and history.
A Celebration of Carl's Life will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville. Interment will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (Veteran's) in Dixon on June 26, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
