Carl Houston Adams passed through Heaven's gate on Sunday, March 28, 2010 after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 59 years, Helen Morgan Adams who preceded him in death.
Carl joined the CCC's at an early age and then enlisted in the military and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed and retired from South Central Bell where he was instrumental in forming the union.
Carl is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Steve Thompson of Harrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Buzz and Connie Adams of Phoenix, AZ and Danny and Starr Adams of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Melissa (Jamie) Philpott of Ooltewah, Amy (Matt) Smith of Harrison, TN, Tyler Thompson of Chattanooga, Paige (Jeff) Abbott of Hixson, TN, Carl, Daniel and Aaron Adams of Phoenix, AZ, April Bettis, Ashli (Wes) Skiles and Abbi (Steve) Buquo of Ooltewah; Great-grandchildren, Helen Ann and Aubrey Philpott, Tanner Smith, Mikayla and Jeffrey Abbott, Karli and Adam McClelland; Reese Skiles and Bella Buquo.
The family wishes to express with deepest appreciation all his caregivers at NHC of Chattanooga and Hospice of Chattanooga for their professional, loving and devoted care.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PN Friday at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11-2 and 4-8 PM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga 4411 Oakwood Drive Chattanooga, TN 37416.

My uncle Carl was a hero to me. When I Was a little girl he took me fishing and he loved me. my memories are of a man that loved life, Jesus, family and he was a bright spot in my life along with Aunt Helen. Nobody will ever know when they came to the cabin in Sale Creek that it meant alot to me. i loved uncle Carl and Aunt Helen.

Patty and Danny my deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I know how you feel, I lost my dad in 2003 and I still miss him to this day. Remember to always keep praying and your days wlll get easier. Mr. Adams will always be in my heart always and forever.

Patty and Steve - my heart goes out to you and your family at this time of grief. My Father went home to be with Jesus at 86 yrs. Viewing the MEM photos brought back many pleasant family memories. The love for your Dad was conveyed through those pictures as well as spoke highly of him and his love for the Air Force. Know that our prayers are with you.
