My condolences to the Family and Friends of Carl. I knew Carl from Woodbridge High School (Class of '61) and shared classes and laughs with him. It's sad to lose someone at a age when most look forward to enjoying the years ahead after working and raising a family. My sympathy to all. Rest in peace, Carl.

My cousin Carl was a wonderful, tender, loving, compassionate and caring man. He was always helping others and so kind to me. I know I am not alone in saying he will truly be missed and the world was an amazing and better place with him in it. Until we meet again glorious and loving memories of you will remain with me.

Carl and I worked togeher as ironworkers and we had baseball in common. Soon our relaionship grew and he he learned I was an umpire. I got him an application. He did the rest and by that, I mean, he passed the written and mechanical tests and started a career as a high school official. Our relationship stayed strong more than 40 years. I moved to Las Vegas and we always had time for a call, sometimes even weekly. I got to know his family; he got to know mine, even though families were never formally introduced. So, I share your loss.

Carl this is your favorite baseball coach Also the one you shared your jokes with and some very nice pictures. You'll be missed as both a friend and as an umpire. Have fun in your next life and loosen up and call the corners. Jerry Smith

My condolences to the Bedrock family. Carl and I graduated from Woodbridge High School, Class of 1961. We also played together on the high school baseball team and were in a few classes together. I have many fond memories of his humorous side. Being an electrician by trade, I saw Carl on a few construction jobs through the years. He still had a great sense of humor during that time as well. I know he'll be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Carl!

Rita, Candace, Beverly and Martin,
I am so very sorry to hear about Carl's passing. Too young, too young. I will always remember him as he was when we were all children in Fords. He was a good guy, always a friend. Mom does not have a computer to respond here but speaking for her, I am sure she will miss his surprise visits. He was such a good conversationalist and kept her entertained. Mom sends sends her condolences as well.
I will try to get to see you while you are all together here in New Jersey.
Lots of love,
Gloria

I met Carl several years ago and we maintained contact via telephone and e-mail and I will miss his wit and his caring for others more than he cared for himself. He entered my sister's life a few years ago and Carl cared for Mary Ann and loved her unconditionally.

First impressions; lasting impressions—Carl Bedrock

Carl loves Mam and Mam loves Carl. Mam (Mary Ann) is my big sister and Carl Bedrock loved her for better and for worse, in sickness and in health and in a way that transcends his passing and defines what love looks like.

Every family has its moments of sadness and it was during one of ours that I first met Carl Bedrock. I had just given a eulogy for a family member that I deeply loved and at the end I became very embarrassed because I began to cry as I stepped away from the podium. Carl positioned himself to conceal me from the mourners and preserved my dignity. That was my first, yet only one, of my lasting impressions of Carl.

Strong, generous, intuitive, intelligent, humble, persistent, loyal, authentic, accepting, sincere—these are my lasting impressions of Carl Bedrock. Carl is irreplaceable and my sadness must pale in comparison to that of his mother Rita, his brother, his sisters, his nephews, niece, great niece, great nephews and my wonderful sister Mam.

Sometimes tragedy and sorrow appear on a grand scale like last week in Boston. And every time these tragedies occur there are selfless individuals that help or give to those in distress. These individuals instantaneously embrace one path of action, they just seem to know that it's time to focus on others because it's the right action. That's the type of person Carl was.

He was someone to appreciate as well as emulate. Carl Bedrock was truly a righteous man and his memory will always bring me comfort and I hope it does the same for all who knew him.

Sincerely,
Gary de Gorgue
