Funeral services for Carl R. Godfrey, age 87 of County Route 28 Ogdensburg will be held Tuesday (Oct 16, 2012) at 10:00am at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Brick Chapel Cemetery in Canton. Calling hours will be held on Monday (Oct 15, 2012) from 3-7pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mr. Godfrey passed away Saturday (Oct 13) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his family. Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Michael (Judy) Armano of Ogdensburg, Mrs. Pierre (Joan) Bond of Brasher Falls, Mrs. Brian (Sharon) Murray of Lisbon; six grandchildren Jill Cartagena & her husband Mark of Ogdensburg, Michele French & her companion Dustin Richer of Ogdensburg, Brandon Murray of Lisbon, Sean Carty & his wife Alyssa of Boston, MA, Megan Coughlin of Brasher Falls, Josh Bond of Brasher Falls; six great-grandchildren Kaylee & Taylor Richer, Brice Carty, Cole, Tanner & Grace Coughlin and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Carl was predeceased by his wife Betty, two sisters Anita Dailey and June See and a brother Raymond Godfrey.

He was born on November 19, 1924 in Watertown, NY a son of Willard & Ethel (Hitchcock) Godfrey. He married Elizabeth M. Lalone on Sept 9, 1950 and worked at ACCO International for many years as a tool and die maker. He retired in 1985.

Carl was a member of the Ogdensburg Elks Lodge B.O.P.E 772, and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
