Although I only met Carla once, I feel I knew her well through her son. She has left the world a better place with the family she leaves behind to whom she instilled her values and enjoyment for life. So for that I thank you Carla. Rob, her spirit lives on with the joy you bring to everyone's life that you touch daily.

Since I came to Broward College after high school I use to hate math. It not until I had taken her class I started to love math again and become a math major. Professor Arriola was very caring and I would definitely miss her. My condolences to her family. Clinton Campbell (Pompano Beach).

Before earning her teaching credential, Carla was a tutor for students in my self-paced math class. Once, while helping a student solve a verbal problem, she called me over. They both had looks of fear and total lack of confidence in their ability to solve it. But all that was left undone was one little item. After pointing it out, I told the student "See how good she is?" (Because she had laid out exactly the correct steps.) Years later, Carla spoke about that incident in front of future tutors she was training, not knowing I was in earshot, wanting to hug and thank her, which I wish I could do right now!

The best of Carla lives within her four children, Sylvia, Matt, Rob and Sheryl. Her spirit continues in the smiles of her much adored grandchildren. She had a quiet strength that will be admired forever. I smile when I think of her. She was beautiful........

Carla really gave back to the community- she helped others by being a great volunteer tutor at the library!
I was in Savannah over Memorial weekend this year and guess who I ran into? Carla! What a small world. She will be missed. My condolences to her love ones.

She was my math teacher at BCC. She always had a smile on her face and was always a teacher that you felt comfortable with. Although I have not seen her in years I am saddened by this news. I wish her family and friend my condolences. She will be missed by anyone who ever had the chance to know her even a little bit.
