Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2013.

Carmela Ciletti
September 29, 1916 - January 20, 2013

Carmela Ciletti, born in Pittsburgh, Pa, to Pasqualina and Antony Caputo, is survived by siblings Ray Caputo of New Jersey and Dolores Priola, of New York.

She met Leonard Ciletti in 1936 and they married May 23, 1938. After a honeymoon in Washington D.C. they made their home in Washington, Pa. Active in St. Hilary's Parish in Washington, in the Christian Mother Society, Carmela served the post war foreign relief project.

The Ciletti's came to Colorado in 1956, to visit their son in the Air Force in Denver. They fell in love with Colorado, and moved to Colorado Springs in 1971. They became active members of Corpus Christi Church. After her husband passed in 1984, Carmela sang in the choir and served on the liturgy committee.

She enjoyed piano, art, cooking, canning and several crafts. She loved family dinners and took pride in passing on recipes for her Italian cookies, Easter Bread and a traditional Christmas Eve dinner.

Preceded in death by Leonard, and Leonard Jr., Carmela is survived by her children, Michael Ciletti and wife Jerilynn, James Ciletti and wife Mary, Barbara Ciletti and husband Eric Schreiber of Longmont and Anthony Sacco and his wife Sarah. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great grand-children.

Viewing will be 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, at Swan Law Funeral Home

Mike, Jim, Barb, Tony and families,
Please accept our deepest sympathies in the loss of your mother. She was one of my favorite aunts. I thought about her frequently and she was in my daily prayers. I am glad you had her with you for such a long time. It must have been comforting for all of you because my memories of her are of a very caring person who took great pride in her family.

I have fond memories of all of the Cilleti's, especially Lenny because he was my age. Visiting with you in Washington was especially nice, I always looked forward to the times I spent with all of you. It broke my heart when you moved to Colorado but I understand the reason why. It's just to bad we didn't have more time together but Families and jobs and life don't allow us to do the things that slip by and can never be brought back.

My happy thoughts are that your mom is having such a wonderful time meeting with your Dad and Lenny and all of her other relatives in heaven. I can just see the reunion now with her mom and dad and sisters and brothers. It will be like being at Grandma Caputos during the holidays...Wow!

It is not easy to lose such a loved one, especially "Mom". My thoughts are that all of you will pull together and support each other which will not make up for the loss but will allow all of you to bear it together.

With all of our sympathy,
Love,
Bernie and Linda Libertore
