Mrs. Carol Jeanne Creek Shropshire, age 66, of Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Shropshire was born in Elgin, Illinois June 26, 1945, daughter of the late George Edward Creek and Marjorie Tucker Creek. Mrs. Shropshire graduated from West Rome High School Class of 1962. She was a very dedicated member of West Rome United Methodist Church where she loved teaching children's Sunday school classes and was a dedicated member of the Crisis Ministry there at the church. Mrs. Carol Jeanne Creek Shropshire, age 66, of Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Shropshire was born in Elgin, Illinois June 26, 1945, daughter of the late George Edward Creek and Marjorie Tucker Creek. Mrs. Shropshire graduated from West Rome High School Class of 1962. She was a very dedicated member of West Rome United Methodist Church where she loved teaching children's Sunday school classes and was a dedicated member of the Crisis Ministry there at the church. She loved her Bible study time, charity work, needle work, helping people, and loved animals especially her dogs Poppett and Harley. Several words that her family used to describe Mrs. Shropshire's life were compassionate, a dedicated wife and mother, and very forgiving.

Survivors include her husband Frank Shropshire to whom she was married on June 26, 1976, sons; Richard Mark Cason of Rome, and Christopher David Shropshire of Ames, Iowa, Daughter; Melinda C. McNeese of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., two stepchildren; Jeffrey C. Shropshire and his wife Melissa of Dallas, GA., and Sabrina Shropshire Cheves and her husband Robbie of Blowing Rock, N.C., one grandchild Libby C. McNeese, and five stepgrandchildren; Josh Shropshire, Andrew Shropshire, Elizabeth Shropshire, Maggie Cheves, and Sam Cheves.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shropshire were conducted Thursday June 7, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at West Rome United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary McWhorter and Rev. Les Connell officiating. Interment followed at Floyd Memory Gardens on Hwy 411. The family received friends Thursday, at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Flowers were accepted or memorial contribution may be made to West Rome United Methodist Church, Crisis Ministry, 1003 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165. Daniel's Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
