With loving memories and thoughts Carol Journey's family announces the passing of their loved one. Carol was born on 2/18/37 in Lansing, Michigan to John and Bessie Osbourn. Carol passed away at the age of 80 in Bakersfield, CA on 7/31/17 surrounded by her family. Carol was preceded in death by eldest child Cynthia Brink, and husbands Floyd Crandell, and Clifton Journey. She is survived by children Thomas Crandell, Mary Crandell, Dorothy Crandell, Michael Brink, Randy Journey, Carol A Journey, Jennifer Journey, Grandchildren Jennifer Hassett, Michelle Peterson, Sylvia Levasa, John Brink, Lisa Apple, Carly Chavez, Ian Journey, Hannah Journey, Chelsea Haller, Nathan Wells, Ryan Suniga, Chris Peterson, Mika Levasa, Donald Apple, Great Grandchildren Cate Peterson, Ashlan Hassett, Jeremiah Levasa, Bryce Apple, Cassie Apple, and Mason Peterson. She was a part of the Bakersfield community for over 51 years. Carol retired after 20 years of service in the early 1990s from Kern Medical where she had worked as a CNA and then transitioned into a LVN. Carol was an active member for a time with the foster grandparents. She enjoyed traveling, visiting the beach, socializing with friends, and spending as much time as she could with her family. Carol will be remembered by her family for her kind heart, gentle smile, unconditional love and being the only person who enjoyed and often requested hospital cafeteria food. She will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held Tuesday August 8th, 2017 at 10 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
