Carol Allen of Indian Wells passed peacefully on July 12, as a result of complications of Heart Failure. Carol was born in Cincinnati Ohio on July 15, 1931, the second daughter of Herman and Hazel Hoberg. She graduated from Whittier High School where she met her husband of 62 years, John Bewley Allen. They married in 1951 and lived in Whittier while John was in the Navy.
In 1955 they settled in San Marino, and raised their children Susan, Scott and Sharie. As a family they shared many adventures traveling throughout the US and Canada. Summers were spent in Durango CO, Sunriver OR, and on Balboa Island. Carol was active in the Junior League of Pasadena, the National Charity League of San Marino and the Pasadena Guild of Children's Hospital. She was known as a cancer survivor with a great sense of humor, love of family and friends and devotion to golf and almost all things sports.
She is survived by her husband John, children Susan O'Brien (Jay), Scott Allen (Karen), Sharie Allen Jaynes. Grandchildren Jerick and Delaney Evans, Michael and Christopher Allen, Natalie, Madeline and Lily Jaynes. As well as many beloved friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, July 24th, at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625.

Carol was probably one of the most fun, intelligent, involved people I knew for 52 years!! We shared godparenting, travels, golf games, countless dinners and laughs throughout the years and her spirit will forever light our lives. Now she's on the best journey of her life...way to go!
