Carol Wilcox Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 18, 2014.

Carol Sue (Hines) Wilcox, 69, passed away peacefully into heaven with her husband at her side, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in Los Angeles, CA, following a brief illness.
She was born in Jackson, Michigan to Ervin and Pearl Hines. Carol had a large family with nine brothers and sisters.
At the age of 15 Carol married the love of her life, Paul Wilcox, they moved to California in 1975, driving across the country in a blue Buick with their five kids. Carol, along with her beautiful family, lived in and loved Carpinteria for the last 38 years. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping with her daughters and granddaughters. Carol loved playing board games and barbecuing with her family. Her presence filled up the room. She also loved playing bingo, poker and bunko with family and long time friends; blue gill fish fry's with her relatives in Michigan who she loved to visit, and traveling to Europe with her husband. She could often be found at grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals.
She worked hard all of her life to provide for her family. Carol was a caring, giving and loving person who lived her life to the fullest. She had a deep love for Jesus. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Carol is going to miss her laugh, contagious smile and outgoing personality. Her husband, children and grandchildren are going to miss her immensely.
Carol is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Wilcox; sons, Dana Wilcox (Jeanne), and Scott Wilcox (Veronica); daughters, Wanda Alonzo (Ron), Holly Smolnikar (Chuck), and Sabrina Blum (Josef); along with 16 grandchildren, Amy, Giana, Leanna, Breanna, Deanna, Cheyenne, Dakotah, Montana, Lauren, Brooke, Brittany, Nathan, Cydney, Brandon, Madison, and Justin.
Carol was laid to rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Carpinteria Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com

My dear family Holly, Sabrina, Wanda, Dana, Scott, and Willy, I can't find the words to express how sorry I am for your loss. I have lots of fond memories of Aunt Carol, a lot of them have to do with poker parties, and us kids running wild and playing. My thoughts are with all of you!
