Carolyn Ailes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 25, 2012.

Carolyn Peterson Ailes 11/6/1929 - 4/22/2012. Carolyn was born on November 6, 1929 in Dinuba, CA, and passed away on April 22, 2012 in Visalia, CA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28th at 11:00 am at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave., Visalia. Carolyn grew up in Dinuba and attended Dinuba High School until 1946, when she met and married Harry Peterson who had just finished his service in the Navy during World War II. They made their home in Delano, CA and were married for 24 years until Harry's passing in 1970. Carolyn married James Ailes on March 16, 1972, and they were happily married until Jim's passing in 2003. She is survived by: her nieces Carol Jackson (Dan), Ellen Schlake (Randy), Dana Wyrick (Butch), Jill Lejeune (Elgie), sons, Kirk Peterson (Debbie), Brent Peterson (Denise), and grandchildren; Lindsey, Chris, Eric, Hannah, Scott, Samantha, Amy, Harry, and Eli. While living in Delano, she was active in many organizations including: Child Guidance, Friends of the Library, Active 20-30, the Episcopal Church, and Exchange Club. In Carolyn's younger years she enjoyed horseback riding, horseback packing, water skiing, and the beach. She was an excellent cook, and until very late in life, drank Greyhounds, Screwdrivers and Chocolate Milk Shakes. As a child of the Great Depression, she found comfort in beautiful things and clothing, and to those of us who knew her, she will be remembered and missed for always being impeccably dressed. The family would like to thank Vicky, Julie, and the entire staff at Delta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their tireless attention. Dearest Kirk and Brent,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of the loss of your mom. She has always held a special place in my heart. I have such fond memories of our families sharing Cayucos vacations years ago. Wishing you peace at this time and smiles through your tears as you remember her and your dad.
Always,

Dear Kirk, Brent and Families: Saddened to hear of Carolyn's passing. This is a difficult time in our lives as these losses go with our age!

I was blessed to have Carolyn in my life and appreciated her love of you boys. We came into the Child Guidance Guild together and spent many years i that "sisterhood". I spoke with her this fall and she sounded like she had many health problems.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. God bless all of you now and during your healing process,
Love Blessings and Smiles, Jackie Peck
