(Tim) Surwillo and Joni (Sean) Smith, Dear grandmother of Neil Balani, Alexander Smith and Erin Smith, only daughter of the late Alma and William (Bill) Conner, dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Carolyn was an eternal optimist, a life long member of Hope U.C.C. Church, served for 72 years in her sorority and worked tirelessly to provide scholarships for college girls. Very proud of her 3 grandchildren, loved being with family and was happy that her daughters were close to her. She was an animal lover, her last companion Heidi she had for 12 years. She was an excellent student, she went to college at 16, an expert rifleman, artist,violinist, married to James F. Alexander for 50 years, she was a teacher and librarian for 27 years, involved in Sigma Tau Sorority for 71 years, involved in College club which provided scholarships for girls, involved in other organizations such as Panhelenci, provided scholarships for Cleveland High Association, Susan Blow Foundation and was involved in PTA and was president at one time.

Memorials in Carolyn's name may be made to the Lupus Foundation, Hope U.C.C. Church, or Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation.


Visitation at HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa at Watson, Thursday August 25, 2011 from 3-8 P.M., thence in state Friday at Hope U.C.C. Church, 6273 Eichelberger from 9:00 A.M until service time at 10:00 A.M. The interment Kay L. (Tim) Surwillo and Joni (Sean) Smith, Dear grandmother of Neil Balani, Alexander Smith and Erin Smith, only daughter of the late Alma and William (Bill) Conner, dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Church, 6273 Eichelberger from 9:00 A.M until service time at 10:00 A.M. The interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Place memories and condolences at www.hoffmeistercolonial.
