Carolyn Carter Ashley, age 85, died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga attending the Chattanooga City Schools. Mrs. Ashley was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She worked for Vance Iron and Steel Company and American Lava.

Preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dye Ashley; mother, Mina K. Carter; aunt and uncle, J. Fred and Ruth Kennedy.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2 PM at Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Howard officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
