I remember the times she'd call me down and listen to my concerns. She went out of her way to compliment my hair and makeup. She was the sweetest woman ever. She made me feel like I had a place at EHHS. She was outgoing and regardless of what happened she was there to help everyone else. She took on multiple people's jobs and it warms my heart to know she's in a better place.Forever in our hearts R.i.pYou'll be remembered

Carol was my teacher at East Hartford Adult Education.
I am deaf and she was extremely patient and kind to me.

My condolences. Mrs. Coogan was truly a phenomenal women. I had her as a teacher and mentor years ago at East Hartford High--Out of the entire staff she was that "go to" person for help with almost everything. Community service, a job, college or just friendly support. She was amazing in so many ways, and anyone who knew her will never forget that.

Mrs. Coogan, you were one of the best people I have ever come across in all my years of being in school. You were always kind hearted, welcoming, helpful, always showed love and interest and never was unavailable. You helped me get my first job, helped me with my resume , I truly don't know what I would have done without you because I know I wouldn't have gotten a job ever at 16 if it weren't for you always willing to help and seeing your students prosper. I can't believe you're gone. Just like that. I wanted to go to the high school to visit you but now I'm too late. I'm so sorry. You always had your nails done so nicely. I wish I can see you one last time . Your heartfelt smile, your loving demeanor, your positive attitude is what made you, you. Your laugh always made everybody crack up! I miss your laugh. I never met someone who's always so happy. I wish I had even half of the heart you do. You're one of the people I can never forget, can never replace and will forever cherish. I miss you Mrs. Coogan. So much. Thank you for always having my back and always being there for me to listen or to help. You're the greatest! I love you ! Rest peacefully to the best. I'll never forget you.

Carol ran our EHHS Career Center for years and worked 110% every day to help students and staff. She truly was the definition of hard work and perseverance. She was always upbeat and positive and seemed to have unlimited energy. The Career Center, the CTE Department and the high school will never be the same without her. She will be greatly missed!!!

Carolyn was not only my sister-in-law but my good friend. I have so many wonderful memories of her from before she was married, her wedding day where I sang their church service and did the readings. Of course, you could not even hold an umbrella up during that storm, not to mention the trees that fell on our friends cars during the reception. Carol and Michael even spent their honeymoon at the house. My dad had been very sick, but Mike and Carol took good care of him too! I remember moving them to their first home during a hurricane when there was no power! Yes sir, Carol and Mike really had the luck of the Irish!! You will never know a more selfless human being than Carol! Heaven has a new angel and saint and when it came to her children, you better believe she would drop everything to care for them. Kelly and John you were truly her life! I could write a book about the special times she spent with both of you. Carol and I had many private conversations and anytime Uncle Dennis and I popped in for a visit, we were treated like royalty. I want you both to know how much I loved your mom and I did all that I could to help her through the difficult years. Ask your dad about our tree trimming escapades. Your mom and I never stopped laughing!! I will miss her more than you'll know, but I am sure she is in a better place and her suffering is over! She will always be with both of you and your dad. She has already showed me a sign and she will come to you when you need her. She will always be in our hearts and prayers. May you fly with the angels and may God hold you in the Palm of his hands until we meet again. I Love You! Margaret Mary Coogan-Shuckerow
