Ms. Carolyn A. Cullen Ms. Cullen, age 37, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center University. She was born December 6, 1974 in Concord, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Cullen. She is preceded in death by her loving fiancé, Gary Walters. Carolyn dedicated her life to helping others; she had a giving nature, large heart, and a deep love of all animals. She had been awarded the Gold Award the highest achievement during her time as a Girl Scout. Ms. Cullen, age 37, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center University.
She was born December 6, 1974 in Concord, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Cullen. She is preceded in death by her loving fiancé, Gary Walters.
Carolyn dedicated her life to helping others; she had a giving nature, large heart, and a deep love of all animals. She had been awarded the Gold Award the highest achievement during her time as a Girl Scout. She graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, attended NC State and graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. Ms. Cullen worked as an advocate for Arosa House for Children, Metrolina AIDS Project, and most recently with the Lash Group as a reimbursement counselor.
Surviving are her brothers, Brian Cullen and wife Terri and Joseph Cullen and wife Lisa; sisters, Kathleen Cullen, Theresa Cullen and Irene Harwood and husband Dean; nephews, Nicholas, Cameron and Jackson Harwood; nieces, Amie Hunsucker and Jordan Cullen; canine companion, Linus; and numerous other loving family members.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, July, 8 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service.
