Obituary

New Bern, NC Carolyn J. Mallard, 73 of New Bern, died December 2, 2012 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Jones Central High School in 1957 and Troutman's Carolina Beauty School in 1960. In 1993 Carolyn received her Real Estate License and in 1999 she retired after 20 years of service as a Teacher's Assistant. Carolyn was a 4-H Club leader and she volunteered as a Gray Lady at CarolinaEast Medical Center. She enjoyed working in the yard and being a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eliza Johnson, and two brothers, Rodney Johnson and William Bruce. She is survived by her...

Carolyn J. Mallard, 73 of New Bern, died December 2, 2012 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She graduated from Jones Central High School in 1957 and Troutman's Carolina Beauty School in 1960. In 1993 Carolyn received her Real Estate License and in 1999 she retired after 20 years of service as a Teacher's Assistant. Carolyn was a 4-H Club leader and she volunteered as a Gray Lady at CarolinaEast Medical Center. She enjoyed working in the yard and being a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eliza Johnson, and two brothers, Rodney Johnson and William Bruce.

She is survived by her husband Aaron L. "Pete" Mallard, two sons, Timothy A. Mallard of Wake Forest; Tracy L. Mallard of New Bern; and one brother, Bobby Johnson and wife Ann of High Point.

Services will be held at 10:00 Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Trenton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the funeral home.
