Carrell was born in Kim, Co. on May 5th, 1933 to Franze and Mable Goodwin. He grew up in the La Junta and Lamar area. After serving seven years in the US Army, he moved to Colorado Springs. He worked as a car salesman for a local dealership, until he opened his own car lot in May 1973. He has been in the same location on Colorado Ave for over 40 years. He sold premium used cars to many people, and made many good friends with most of his customers over the past 40 years.

After his service in the US Army, Carrell and his wife Janice moved to Colorado Springs. They have been married 58 wonderful years. They raised two boys. The oldest, Randy, lives in Colorado Springs with his wife Lori. His younger son Douglas lives at home with his mother. He has two grandchildren, Christi and Lisa Goodwin, one great grandchild Ember, and one brother Jay who lives in Nebraska.

Services for Carrell will be this Friday Nov. 22nd at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church on the corner of Tejon and St. Vrain. A reception will follow at the church Founders Hall. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery Friday afternoon with military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 at Swan Law Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
