Johnson, Jr., Carrick Joseph, age 94, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was a very active member of Stock Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, head usher, Sunday School Superintendent and served on several committees over the years. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company with 40 plus years of service and was in the US Navy serving during World War II. He was stationed on the USS Raymond and fought in the Pacific Theater and the Battle of Samar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrick Joseph, Sr. and Bess Morgan Johnson; brothers, Alan J "Bill", Clyde, Beecher, and Lewis Johnson; sister, Mary Beth Dyer; granddaughter, and Amie Johnson;. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 72 years, Fay Johnson; daughters, Janice Snowden and husband, Lynn; Kay Adams and husband, Wayne; sons, Alan Johnson; and Duane Johnson and wife Melody; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Stock Creek Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM, Rev. officiating. Interment will follow at Stock Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com
