Carrie was born in Fries, Virginia into a large family of 12 children. There she met Bob Yates, her husband of 47 years. Together they raised two wonderful children, worked hard, enjoyed life and shared many adventures. For 17 years she worked for the Dade County Board of Education as a school lunch manager before retiring to Live Oak , FL. Carrie volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Suwannee County Hospital.
