Services for Mr. Carroll Allen Jones will be held Friday at 1pm in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home of Union. Rev. Jon Martin will be officiating. Burial will follow in Union City Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, 73, of Birmingham, passed away Tuesday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. He was retired after 31 years with Bell South. Mr. Jones was a 1965 graduate of Mississippi State University and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Gardendale who was proud to be God's servant foremost as well as a strong father who loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Paula Muse Jones; children Greg Jones (Kelly), Gary Jones, Gwen Freeman (Kevin) and Gloria Thomas (SFC Mark Thomas); grandchildren Roslyn Rodda (Beau), Josh Jones (Sheridan), Geoffrey Jones (Chasity), Allyson Ball (Ben), Allen Jones, Jordan Freeman, Jacob Freeman, Josie Freeman; great-grandchildren Olivia Henderson, Alyssa Henderson and Audrey Ball. He is also survived by brothers Michael Jones (Paulette) and Stan Jones (Laura) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Jo Jones of Union.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
