At the age of 85, Catherine Marie (Glennon) Villano of Eastham, formerly of Marlborough, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 19, 2017. Born in Milford in 1932 and the first born of 6 children to James and Mary (DeVenuto) Glennon, she graduated from Milford High School in 1949 and went on scholarship to study French at Boston University. She was later employed by New England Telephone as a Customer Service Supervisor where she met her beloved husband, Anthony. He has been her best friend for 59 years, and in recent months, her tireless caregiver.
Devoted mother and Nana, she is predeceased by her eldest son, Michael, and leaves behind his wife, Mary, of Meriden CT, and their children Elizabeth and Michael, her son James (Delores) of Southbury, CT, and their children, Matthew, Caitlin, Meghan and Jack, and her daughter Catherine of Franklin, and her daughter, Juliana. She was predeceased by her brother, James, and leaves behind her brothers: Daniel (Carol) of Milford, John (Virginia) of Sorrento, FL, Thomas (Patricia) of Naples, FL, and William (Annie) of Charlton, MA. She also leaves her sister in law, Mary Villano, of Peoria AZ, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A fantastic cook, she was known to entertain friends and family with delicious feasts. She and her husband welcomed many to their Cape Cod home over the years as a popular gathering place.
Her sharp wit, exceptional creative abilities, along with her natural instinct to solve any problem she encountered, set her apart. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 24th from 5-8 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in her honor at a Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 25th, at 11 am at St Joan of Arc Church, Canal Rd, Orleans, MA. Catherine. I sure do miss our random phone calls, when we would chat about the woes of the world, politics, kids, weather. We never solved a damned problem but we sure had many a laugh about the ways to do it.
Your wisdom about do many things was such a gift, your willingness to be available was admirable. Your cooking was envied. And your laughter still rebounds in my heart.
You always checked in how Debbie was doing so now I can ask you, my friend to check-in with how she's doing because she up there with you. Always loved always missed. peg
