Obituary

Catherine Day Bowen, wife of the late Ray Bowen, of Easley, passed from this life Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Mrs. Bowen was born in Pickens County, daughter of the late Marvin and Pearl Simmons Day. She worked with the SC Department of Social Services and retired from Pickens County Treasurer’s Office. She was a volunteer at Cannon Memorial Hospital and Baptist Hospital Easley. Mrs. Bowen was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers I Sunday School Class. Catherine Day Bowen, wife of the late Ray Bowen, of Easley, passed from this life Wednesday, August 13, 2014.





Mrs. Bowen was born in Pickens County, daughter of the late Marvin and Pearl Simmons Day. She worked with the SC Department of Social Services and retired from Pickens County Treasurer’s Office. She was a volunteer at Cannon Memorial Hospital and Baptist Hospital Easley. Mrs. Bowen was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers I Sunday School Class.





Survivors include her sons, Steven Bowen (Susan) of Anderson, and Barry Bowen (Annette) of Easley and her daughter, Sharon Watson of Knoxville, TN. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her brother, Roger Day of Pickens.





In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by brothers, Glenn Day, Cleo Day, and Paul Day.





The family will receive friends at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM with funeral services following in the funeral home chapel at 1:30PM. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.





The family extends many thanks to a special friend Geroldine C. Anthony. We also extend much appreciation for outstanding care from Margaret Barr and Kelly Williams.
