Catherine Mae Brown, 92 of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Morning Breeze Nursing Home. Catherine was born in Decatur County on November 19, 1921, the daughter of Clarence and Eva Mount. She married Robert Brown on August 29, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was a 1939 Graduate of Greensburg High School. Catherine worked at Bohn Aluminum as an inspector and a foreman for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1985. Survivors include her son Larry J. Brown, her granddaughter Deborah (Gary) Richmond, her grandson Jamie (Melissa) Brown and 4 great grandchildren all of Greensburg. She was preceded...
Catherine Mae Brown, 92 of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Morning Breeze Nursing Home. Catherine was born in Decatur County on November 19, 1921, the daughter of Clarence and Eva Mount. She married Robert Brown on August 29, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a 1939 Graduate of Greensburg High School. Catherine worked at Bohn Aluminum as an inspector and a foreman for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1985.
Survivors include her son Larry J. Brown, her granddaughter Deborah (Gary) Richmond, her grandson Jamie (Melissa) Brown and 4 great grandchildren all of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Judith Mount, Mary Lou Hantiz, and Dorothy Welage and three brothers Robert "Buddy" Mount, Dale "Buck" Mount and one infant brother.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 4PM – 7PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Catherine's funeral service will begin at 10AM on Tuesday, February 4 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 129.
