Cayetano "Tano" Aguilar, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 2, 2012. On this day, he joined his beloved wife Hortencia and dear son Armando in heaven. He worked for many years at ASARCO, during which time he also established and ran a lawn and garden business. The business flourished and upon retirement he dedicated all his time and effort to serving his clients. Tano was an inspiration to his sons who continue running the business with dedication and commitment, skills instilled in them by their hard working father. He will always be remembered for his dedication to hard work, loyalty to his family, enthusiasm when watching his Dodger team, and his friendly smile. There were no strangers in Tano's life, just new friends. He will be deeply missed by his children Raul, Salvador, Cayetano, Jr., Antonio, Hortencia and Alma. His 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren are left with cherished memories of their loving grandpa.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Martin Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen East.

Grandpa, Though you're not with us anymore, your teachings and values are etched in my mind and will continue to be a source of inspiration to me and others who have come to know you. You will never see the deposits you placed within our hearts, but I do know this: one day I will meet you again in heaven. And I won't be alone. From this day forward, many will know you from the stories and memories we have of you. And they, like myself, will thank you for being that amazing friend, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. I once again reiterate the words that I shared with you on your 90th birthday party “You have always been the ideal after which I want to model myself when I one day become a father/grand-father. Your gentle strength, your wisdom, and your passion for life and all it has to offer, are just a few of the many attributes that have made you the amazing father/grandfather and great-grandfather. I have said it many times before, and will again many times more: if I can be half the man that you are, I will be lucky indeed.” Love you Granpa! Love Adrian and Jacob!!!!
