8 years! I'm still loving and missing you. So much has happened since you went to heaven. I know that you already know about all that so I won't go over it. I know you were watching over me and helping me through it. Love you babe . Me.

Hi honey, it seems like this morning that you kissed me goodbye and asked if you could lean on me for awhile longer. Little did we know it would be minutes. Always on my mind forever in my heart. I miss the sound of your voice, your smell and that twinkle in your eye. Love you, Carolyn

Uncle Cecil,
I am not sure you would consider yourself a teacher but you have taught me many things through out the years. You were one of those rare individuals that really lived life to the fullest. You grabbed on with both hands and said show me what you got and after some great adventure or crazy stunt, you were like, is that it? Is that all you got and you were off again on some great adventure or crazy stunt. You taught me that we only have this one crazy wonderful life and it is meant to be lived to the fullest.
You taught me fun things like quading and snowmobiling. You taught me practical things like sceptic tanks, wells, retaining walls and all things about living in the country. You taught me family things, like how important it is to let our children go off in the world so that they can shine.
The other thing I really admired is your ability to see through all of the BS and not be shy about calling someone out on it. Every time I tried to whitewash something, pretend I cared less than what I did or made some lame excuse for some choice I made, you called me out every single time. I loved that about you.
I am really going to miss you. I am going to miss talking to you, getting advice from you, getting teased by you and most of all laughing with you. If I had a star for each time you made me laugh, I would hold the whole universe in my hands.
You were truly a great man and I feel very blessed that you were part of my life and oh so proud that I could call you uncle.

Cec, I want to thank you for being such a wonderful and giving friend, and the most fun person I believe I have ever met. All the good times we have had hunting, camping, riding around on the horses, always will be remembered, always, Larry.

What makes a man a hero?
I've often thought this through.
It's someone who is macho?
It's someone who is true?
No, that is not a hero.
He's just a simple man.
Always there when things go wrong and who does the best he can.
He lends a strong shoulder to ease the flow of tears.
He holds high the lantern to drive away your fears.
His smile was just enough to give encouragement.
His frown more than adequate to make one soon relent.
When some had need of guidance his ears he'd freely lend advice came in abundance
You chose, not him could you offend.
He had no need of medals or glory this is true.
That's why, Dear Pops
Our hero has to be you.
I love you
