Obituary

Cecil Lamar Beverly, born November 19, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama, left this earthly home for his heavenly home on January 11, 2013 in his residence in Semmes, Alabama. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil F. and Jennie Matt Beverly. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of 48 years, one son Jason (Tonia), grandson Cody (8), granddaughter Katie (6), brother Ronnie M. Beverly (Carolyn), as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Cecil was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army, receiving a purple heart. He then worked 11 years in civil service at Brookley Field, and at its closing went into sales...
Cecil Lamar Beverly, born November 19, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama, left this earthly home for his heavenly home on January 11, 2013 in his residence in Semmes, Alabama. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil F. and Jennie Matt Beverly. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of 48 years, one son Jason (Tonia), grandson Cody (8), granddaughter Katie (6), brother Ronnie M. Beverly (Carolyn), as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Cecil was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army, receiving a purple heart. He then worked 11 years in civil service at Brookley Field, and at its closing went into sales with Prudential Insurance and completed his career in the sales department of Food Brokerage Companies. Cecil was a member of Snow Road First Baptist Church, as well as a member of Masonic Lodge #40 for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. Additionally, he was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his grandson play baseball. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Monday January 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. until noon, with services following. Dr. Paul Montalvo will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Snow Road First Baptist Church Building Fund. The family extends special thanks and love to the staff at Alacare Hospice, especially Ariel Kelly. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneralhome.com.
