Funeral services for Celia E. Adams, 87, a resident of the United Helpers Nursing Home, and formerly of 615 Patterson St., Ogdensburg will be held on Monday, Oct. 24th at 11:00 am at Foxwood Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. F. James Shurtleff, pastor of Notre Dame Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg. Friends may call at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Funeral services for Celia E. Adams, 87, a resident of the United Helpers
Nursing Home, and formerly of 615 Patterson St., Ogdensburg will be held on Monday,

Mrs. Adams died on Friday morning (Oct. 21, 2011) at the nursing home where she had
been a resident since June 12, 2009.

Surviving are; 2 sons, Richard R. (Lisa ), Timothy P. (Dawn); 2 daughters, Roxanne
Adams, Mrs. Troy A. (Lori) Barr, all of Ogdensburg; 5 grandchildren, David Adams
(Christine), Jennifer Adams, Andrea Adams, Abigail Adams, and Alexandra Barr;
2 sisters and brothers-in-law, James & Betty Fournier, Ogdensburg, and Fred & Jane
Ann Loveless of PA

Her husband Robert Adams predeceased her in 1993. A daughter, Roberta A. Adams predeceased her in 2005.

She was born on Sept 7, 1924 in Madrid, NY, the daughter of Rocco & Antonia
Carnavale Cerro. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Ogdensburg and from
Rochester Business Institute. On October 23, 1948 she married Robert F. Adams at St.
Mary's Cathedral with Rev. John Weir, officiating. She was employed at the former
Cleveland Container Co., McConville, Inc. Trucking Co., and Mort Backus & Sons, Inc.,
retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish, and a volunteer at St.
Vincent de Paul Society.

She enjoyed her retirement by spending time with her children and grandchildren, having
coffee each day with her dear friend, June Farrell. She always loved the St. Lawrence
River. A special thanks is extended to her home and nursing home care-givers.

Memorial contributions may be made to; the Society of United Helpers, Hospice of St.
Lawrence Valley, or to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
