I have known Prof. Kanta Gupta since 2012, since we met in the Conference Ischia Group Theory. After my talk she invited me Winnipeg to work together. I visited her twice in Winnipeg, one month in January 2013 and one month in October 2015. We wrote two research articles together. She was an extraordinary person, very good mathematician, very kind colleague to work with. She was always very kind and nice to me. I will always remember our mathematical discussions and her nice comments.

I taught with Kanta at the University of Manitoba. I worked with her many times over the past 10 years or so. In the past few years, she showed kindness to my entire family in ways that many people don't bother to. That is a character I want to imitate. She will be missed.

Dear Kumar,
We are saddened regarding your loss. Please know that we are thinking of you and sending you our heartfelt sympathy.
Even though your mom has been ill for some time and surely you've already been feeling the loss, this still must come as a painful blow. To bury your parent is to bury a substantial part of your past, and that is a significant loss. We didn't know your mom, but to leave this world a son as fine as the man that you are is no small accomplishment.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We want you to know that we care and feel for your loss.
In sorrow and with love,
