Charles E. "Charlie" Houze, age 77, of Creve Coeur, passed away Saturday, Jan 6, 2018 at 5:40 a.m. at Morton Terrace.
He was born Sep. 29, 1940 in Peoria to Lloyd and Phyllis (Hinton) Houze. He married Flo Robbins on July 8, 1967 in Peoria. She survives along with one daughter, Becky (Robert O'Laughlin) Platt of Creve Coeur, one son, John (Heather) Houze of Marquette Heights, four grandchildren: Kyle, Megan, Boone, Clayton, two great-grandchildren, Ryder, Bella, two sisters: Nancy Pullium of Creve Coeur, Patsy (Bob) Pullium of East Peoria, and one brother, Jim (Vicki) Houze of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charlie was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Military he worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 33 years as a Machinist retiring in 1999.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
