Charles Bodo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 13, 2017.

Charlie Bodo, 52, a Tampa Florida native, passed away suddenly of complications with pneumonia and lung cancer, on June 12, 2017. A graduate of T.R. Robinson High School, he loved to fish and always wanted to be in a boat and on the water.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dawn M. Bodo, son Devin Bodo age 17, daughter Amanda Bodo age 13, Mother Marcia Clamon Bodo, sister Laura Bodo and her spouse Irene Paulson-Bodo and children, Mother-in-Law Gail Rohrs, brother in law Rodney Rohrs and spouse Kim Rohrs and children, Brother in Law Stephen Rohrs and spouse Mae Rohrs and children. Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles F. Bodo, Sr., and Grandmother Rita M. Bodo, both of Tampa, FL.

The Celebration of His Life will be held at Blount & Curry on Friday, June16, at 7pm, located at 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609 (813) 876-2421. The family will receive guests at 6PM. Everyone is welcome to attend this casual gathering celebrating his love of fishing, sports and rock and roll.

Charlie owned his Landscaping business for many years and had a passion for Florida wildlife, horticulture, reptiles, birds and all that Tampa Bay had to offer. His greatest passion, other than his wife and family, was fishing. Charlie was also actively involved in the Great American Teach-In and had a passion for educating and sharing his reptiles and knowledge of all local habitats with others.

Charlie, a man who loved the outdoors more than anything, would love to be surrounded by flowers, plants and dish gardens which will later be donated to John Knox Village in memory of his grandmother, Rita Bodo. The family would like to thank the outpouring of support we have been given in this time of grief and disbelief. As Charlie would say, “Stay Calm and Fish On”

Dawn, Devin, Amanda, Laura and Aunt Marcia,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your husband, father, brother and son. Charlie was so much to so many. And while the years have crept by between our get togethers, I'll always have happy memories of my time with my big cousin. Clamon parties were a staple of my childhood. The beach house, Christmas and Thanksgiving. How could you not laugh when we were all together?! I can picture Charlie's deep chuckle and it makes me smile. He was loved and happy. May the memories of joyful days overshadow your grief. I love and miss you all and send big hugs and prayers your way.

❤Hannah

Dear Marsha and Family,

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your son Charlie. He took care of our yard a few years back, and frequently brought the children with him. Another South Clark original gone. Shocked to read this morning Charlie left at such a young age. Strangely enough I was thinking of him Sunday out on the front porch. He used to cut my trees a long time ago and I had some seashells in my planter, one of which he wanted but I couldn't;let go of it. He was a fine person, adored by his grandmother Rita, my friend. My heart is heavy for the family in this tragic loss. May God grant you peace in time to face this sad void in your family. I am truly sorry. Your have my prayers.

The two of you are forever in our memories as an energetic twosome that flew between our yards with a crazy guinea pig to guard us all.
