Charles Mitchell Meyer of Kyle, Texas, beloved husband and father, passed away December 28th at the age of 63. Charlie was born in St Paul, Minnesota on July 23, 1954, to the late Rupert and Loretta Meyer.
Growing up in St Paul, Charlie learned to play ice hockey at a young age, and went on to play defenseman for St Cloud State through his college years. High school summers were spent working on a soda truck and playing golf at Breezy Point Resort, Minnesota. He graduated college with a marketing degree from St Cloud State.
Charlie excelled in his work pursuits due to his all-around good nature and drive to succeed. A salesman by nature, he began his career for M&M Mars in Minneapolis, transferring to Pepsi Co in Iowa, then moving on to Fleetwood Homes in Little Rock, Arkansas and in central Texas. He was actively working for Community Coffee up until 2 years ago.
Settling in Kyle, Texas with his wife Terry, Charlie loved playing the guitar, watching anything to do with the Beatles, the movie "Miracle", playing with his dogs, and spending time with his grown children.
Charlie was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Austin, in 2016, suffering a traumatic brain injury. He gave recovery all he had. Our family was so happy he was able to attend his youngest son's wedding this past May, where he was fully engaged, smiling, laughing and shedding a few tears.
Many would describe him as "one of a kind", with his infectious laugh and smile. His story telling was one of his greatest gifts, quite possibly hearing a particularly engaging story more than once, it did not matter. Charlie was a unique, colorful, passionate soul and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Terry Correa, Charlie is survived by his two sons, Matthew Meyer of Dallas Texas and Andrew Meyer and wife Amy of Round Rock, Texas; daughter, Kailey Meyer of Mesa, Arizona; stepsons, Jason Peed, Kyle Peed and Ryan Peed, of Kyle, Texas; sisters, Carol Hentges of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Mary Meyer Allen of Punta Gorda, Florida; and brother, John R. Meyer, St Paul Minnesota.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.

My condolences to all the Meyer family and you, Kailey, Matt and Andrew. I'm so sorry for your loss. When I'd hang out with Kailey at the age of 7, I remember Chuck would always turn on Thriller by Michael Jackson and me and Kailey would dance and drink Pepsi. It's very evident that a lot of your Dad is in each one of you- not just your heart but personalities and shine. He was always smiling and seemed like such a fun Dad. Rest in Peace, Charles!

Hearing of Charlie's passing brings great sadness. I had the pleasure of working with Charlie at Fleetwood Homes. Charlie always brought energy, was always positive and was someone you gravitated towards because of his huge personality. My deepest sympathies go out to the Meyer family.

It was my very happy privilege to have known Charlie back when we worked together at Pepsi. What a great friend, what a great sense of humor. Sad for us, but happy for the people in heaven to have such a one of a kind to have a beverage with and tell some funny stories.
God bless you, Charlie. You were one of the good ones.

Heard of Charlie's passing from friends recently and still shocked. I worked with Chuck at Pepsi in the 90's when a competitive spirit and hard work were valued greatly. Charlie excelled at those and many more qualities. We shared history on the hockey rink, and played many intense golf matches, with Charlie's humor and cunning strategy usually allowing him to come out on top. We communicated a few times over the past 20 years, each time as if no time had passed. Truly a gem of a guy, wonderful friend to many, and will be sorely missed. I'll "dedicate" my first putt of the season to Chuck, and I'm certain it will drop! RIP, Terry Frahm

Dear Terry, Matthew, Kailey, and Andrew,
Please accept my sympathies for your loss. Charlie was truly a unique husband, father, and friend. He must have told me at least 1,000 stories... yes it was the same 10 stories told 100 different times, but it really didn't matter because he always told them with Charlie's infectious passion. When I young 26-year-old whippersnapper early in my Pepsi career Pepsi assigned me to North Dakota, and they sent me to Charlie to be trained. When I walked out of the airport in Des Moines, Iowa there was Charlie in his company car, and as you would expect he was on the cell phone, but he quickly waved me into the vehicle and we were off, and that was the start of a long friendship.
Charlie really became a mentor of mine. We both had territories that crossed expansive empty states and we would talk for hours on our dash mounted cell phones on our long drives home from bottler visits. We often chuckled about our exorbitant cell phone bills. Fortunately, Pepsi liked us and did not fire us for being long-winded.
Our conversations continued almost daily up until Charlie got into his accident. I have never met a man quite like Charlie rarely ever did he meet a person that he did not like, and this was probably a key to his success in sales. I know that he will be missed by you all, and he will certainly be missed by me.
Sincerely, Jon Robinson

I had the pleasure of working with Charlie at Pepsi in Des Moines. We grew to be good friends. After he left Pepsi we talked only a few times over the course of about 20 years. A couple years ago, we had the chance to reconnect when I was in Austin, and for a few hours it was like the old times in the Pepsi hay-days. Charlie always had great stories and I'm sure none of them were embellished at all - I'm sure if there is a golf course in heaven Charlie will be there shooting par. My thoughts and prayers to Charlie's family. He touched my life and I will never forget him.

I've known Charlie since 5th grade and have always known him to be the life of the party. Even though in later years we were separated by many miles (Minnesota to Texas), I often think about him and the fun we had growing up together. Although I was saddened to hear of his passing, I cherish the good times we had and will always have him in my thoughts and prayers. Heaven has gotten a great guy who I'm sure will keep everyone laughing and smiling. My sincere condolences go out to Terry and the rest of Charlie's family.

Chuck was truly a great man. He had an amazingly positive outlook on life and always opened up his home to others. He always had a smile on his face and a great story to tell. So many cherished memories with Chuck, from him taking Andrew and I to rowdy Texas Star games or just him sharing one of his many animated stories. And he boy could do a heck of a head-stand.
Rest in Peace Charles "Chuck-Man" Meyer, we miss you.

I am very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. My heart goes out to Matt, Kailey, and Andrew. Your father loved you very much. Carol, Jack, and Mary, my condolences go out to you as well. You were so gracious to me the few times that we met. I often think of your parents, and am so glad that Loretta is once again with her beloved Rupert. I'm sure that is quite difficult losing your youngest brother at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
Godspeed
