Funeral services for Charles Rorie will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Lancaster, Bro. Gerald Downs and Bro. Tim Edwards officiating. Burial with military honors will take place in Williams Cemetery.

Charles passed away on March 23rd at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was born on September 28, 1938 to the late Reuben and Nettie Mae Rorie. He was a 1958 graduate of Biggersville High School and a longtime member of Shady Grove Baptist Mission Church where he spent the last 12 years as a deacon. He was retired from Caterpillar where he worked in quality control. Charles served in the U.S. Army and spent time in Thailand during the Berlin Conflict. He enjoyed raising miniature horses, gardening, and working in his yard.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother in law; David Loden.

Charles is survived by his wife of 54 years; Lavada V. Rorie of Corinth, his two sons; Rickey Rorie and Donney Rorie both of Corinth, two sisters; Mae Anna Smith of Corinth, Ruby Faye Loden of Pensacola, FL, two grandchildren; Joshua (Rebecca) Rorie and Amanda Rorie of Starkville. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, other family and his friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. tonight at Memorial Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be; Jerry WIlbanks, John Gray, Herbert Kennedy, Gary Strickland, Jimmy Taylor and Larry Gilliam. Honorary Pallbearers are; his classmates and close friends; Jerry Thrasher, Danny Dilworth and the men of the adult Sunday school class at Shady Grove Baptist Mission Church.
