Charles Francis Troutman, 54, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Charles was born in Jennings to Roy and Roynell Troutman. He was the custodian at the Jr. High in Roanoke for 25 years. In September of 2013 he became an Associate Pastor at Roanoke Baptist Church, also youth director and a vacation bible school teacher. Charles was a member of the board of directors at Dry Creek Baptist Camp. He was secretary for over 20 years for the Lions Club. He loved woodworking specializing in clocks. Charles loved to travel including a trip to Isreal.
Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy Troutman; son, Ty Troutman; mother, Roynell DeVilbiss Troutman; brothers, Roy Norman Troutman and wife Suzanne and Dan Troutman and wife Linda; sister, Connie Brisolara and husband Dennis. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Arlen Troutman; grandmother, Gwyneth DeVilbiss; and aunt, Debbie Demarest.
A Going Home Service will be held at Roanoke Baptist Church on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2p.m. The Reverend Darrell Hieronymus will officiate. Visitation is Friday from 3p.m. to 9p.m. and Saturday from 9a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Cindy and Ty, so sorry to hear about Charles. He was a great man and lived his life as God ordained. I especially liked his sense of humor and concern for others. I enjoyed about a 30 minute visit with him at the church the day of the celebration of your minister's school retirement .
