Charles William Gates of Southlake, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2017. He was 87 years old.
The family will commemorate Charles life in a private Celebration of Life Memorial at a later date.
Charles was born in Sykes, Louisiana to Charles Hinton Gates and Tyna Vines Gates on April 20, 1929.
He was a graduate of Louisiana State University. Charles was a Petroleum Engineer and Retired from Amoco Petroleum Company after 36 years of Service. Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Gates, and wife, Angelina Gates, of Chugiak, AK; Grandchildren, Stuart Rue and wife, Sarah Evans, of Salem, OR, Brian Rue, and wife, Charla Rue, of Denton, TX, Kevin Gates, and wife, Elzbeth Gates, of Centreville, VA, Kyle Gates of Charlotte, NC, Carey Gates and wife, Keana Gates, of Reston, VA, Alikak Gates of Chugiak, AK, Clara Gates of Chugiak, AK; Great-grandchildren: Casson Gates of Harrisonburg, VA, Olivia Adomeit of McGaheysville, VA, Keaton Gates of Gravesend, Kent UK, Ellissia Gates of Gravesend, Kent.
