Obituary

Charles C. "Chuck" Acosta passed away surrounded by family February 28, 2013. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Monday March 4, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. A procession to the Cemetery will depart following visitation. Charles will be laid to rest with Military honors, the American Legion and Patriot Guard will be in attendance. Charles was born January 11, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to Pablo and Sophia Acosta. Charles was born January 11, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to Pablo and Sophia Acosta. He grew up in Cleburne where he played Football with the Yellow Jackets. He joined the United States Airforce in 1961 and later worked in Fort Worth at General Dynamics building airplanes. From 1981 to 1993 he spent time at the Waco VA Medical Center. He won 1st place in the Wheel Chair Olympics.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Rachel; daughter, Tina Acosta and her son, step children, Stephanie Rodriguez and husband Ronnie, Roland Marquez and wife Maria; grandchildren, Michael Marquez, Brittany Sanders, Andrew Stout, and Meagan Marquez; sisters, Juanita Nelson and husband David, Mary Calhoun, Frances DeGraff and husband Alvin, Faye Williams and husband Roger, Ramona Henderson and husband Larry, and Susan Cook and several nieces, nephews and friends.
