Mr. Charles Lenton Anthony, 66, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his residence. A native of Burke County, he was born September 11, 1944 to the late Boyce Anthony and Jessie Childers Anthony. He was a member of the West View Baptist Church, Morganton, where he served as Sunday School Director and Deacon for many years. He volunteered at the Burke United Christian Ministries. In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Gail Smith Anthony, a brother, Cyrus Anthony, four sisters, Azale Chapman, Mary Ellen Matthews, Dot Greene and Bonnie Carswell., He is survived by two...
Mr. Charles Lenton Anthony, 66, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his residence. A native of Burke County, he was born September 11, 1944 to the late Boyce Anthony and Jessie Childers Anthony. He was a member of the West View Baptist Church, Morganton, where he served as Sunday School Director and Deacon for many years. He volunteered at the Burke United Christian Ministries. In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Gail Smith Anthony, a brother, Cyrus Anthony, four sisters, Azale Chapman, Mary Ellen Matthews, Dot Greene and Bonnie Carswell.,

He is survived by two sons, Charles Marcus Anthony & wife, Pamela and Michael Boyce Anthony & wife, Nancy, all of Morganton;
A daughter, Jessie Madgeleen Goines and husband, William David, Jr., of Morganton;
Four brothers, Robert Anthony, of Maiden, Donald Anthony, of Morganton,
Larry and Rick Anthony, both of Morganton;
Three sisters, Ruby Bowman, of Valdese, Caroleen Coffey, of Valdese and Wanda Deal, of Taylorsville;
11 grandchildren, Kristin Anthony, Tyler Anthony, Christina Rector, Danielle Stovall, Matthew Lafevers, Leslie Anthony, David Goines, III, Kimberly Goines, Chelsea Goines, Charlye Goines, and Hannah Goines;
Four great-grandchildren, Mason Icard, Memphis Icard, Calleigh Icard and Grayson Stovall;
Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive him.

A graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Westview Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverends Ricky Speagle and Earl Cross officiating. The family will gather in the Church Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the Graveside Services.

The family will gather at the home of Mr. Mark Anthony, 5026 Old Creek Road, Morganton, NC 28655 and they may be reached at (828) 433-6062.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at 5026 Old Creek Rd, Morganton, NC 28655 or to the Westview Baptist Church, 3205 US 64 West, Morganton, NC 28655.
