Dear Jeanne and Kasey, What a sweet and handsome man your Charlie is! Even as a teen-ager, I could recognize a man of integrity. And II love the pictures you posted of him. Mom called this week to tell me about his service then mailed me the program. I wish we could have been there! I know Dad is excited to see him after all these years. It will likely take them a long time to catch up. Bonnie was just visiting us from California so I passed on the news to her too. We all loved the three of you so much and thank God for placing your family at Beach Methodist so long ago, as you have obviously been a great blessing to many of God's children there. One day when we get down that way we will be sure to look you up and claim a hug from you, Jeannie. And we can all say with a certainty that the love you had for Jesus shone so brightly, that it caused us to fall in love with Him too.
With love and prayers and blessings,
Ty and Dee (Fernsler) Gregory and Bonnie (Fernsler) Lyon

I will miss you very much, Uncle Charlie. Though you were only 10 years older than I, you were my "Hero" and I never told you that for which I am sorry. How very much my Mom loved her "baby brother". I remember how happy we all were when you came safely back from WW II and how devilishly handsome you were. You left this world a better place for having had you in it. You will always be in my heart and a part of me. Your loving niece

One of the most memorable times with Mr. Charlie, was Christmas Eve in the late 80's in the little BUMC's Chapel. My Jack and I had decorated the chapel windows with fresh greenery and red candles in hurricane globes for the communion service. (Our church at this time had "come as you will" communion.)We were in the balcony overseeing the soft music & burning candles as people came in. This was a wonderful holy night as Mr. Charlie served communion to our congregation. Having communion served by this honorable man was one of the highlights of our BUMC memories.

Charlie, you will be missed more than you know. As I watched the photo gallery, it brought back so MANY memories of days in Jax. Beach & much of my youth. Thank you & Jeanne for being such a vital part of my early years! You are a true hero...a man of honor to your family & those who loved you. I know you have a lot to do now, catching up with long-departed friends. Love,
Nance

I am so thankful to have met you. It seemed like the sun shined a little brighter when you and your beautiful bride would visit the office! I know you will be missed by many, but I take comfort that we will see you again. As I shared with Kasey, you were already an Angel on Earth. Now you've been rewarded with the most beautiful wings! Love and prayers to the Atkinson and Peters Families. Love you Auntie Kasey!!!

In 1985 when we visited BUMC, Jeanne and Charlie were the first precious couple to welcome us. Vivian James and Sara Lee Taylor also were "in line".
This was the moment we decided to join this wonderful church family. May God forgive, love and reward you Mr. Charlie! I'm sure He surrounded you with open arms..... "well done my faithful servant!" I love you "Mom" &
"Little Sis, Kasey".
