Charles "Chuck" Balsamico Sr. of Burleson, TX. entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday September 29, 2012. Chuck was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 18th 1930.
He is survived by his son Charles "Chuck" Balsamico, Jr. of Abita Springs, LA, stepson Larry Mayer of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughters Jennifer Balsamico Crutsinger and husband Joey of Fort Worth, TX. Jessica Balsamico Hornsby and husband Van of Covington, LA, grandson Charles "Chuck" Balsamico III of Covington, LA, three great grandchildren, Austin, Addison and Aiden. Also survived by a niece, Peggy Balsamico Spangler, and nephews; William Balsamico Jr. and Johnny Balsamico, all of Pittsburgh, PA.
He served in the US Army from 1949 to 1951. He also graduated from Beauty College, where he held an active Barber's License from 1962-1996. Passionate about his work at General Motors in Arlington for over 30 years, he retired as a line supervisor in 1986. Chuck remained friends with many co-workers since retiring.
Chuck's favorite past-times included writing and singing music, painting, watching and playing golf. He also enjoyed dancing at the Senior Activity Center with dear friend and companion, Fran Soucie of Cleburne, TX.
Chuck's life experiences and personality echoed through the lives of his family. His son, Chuck Jr. followed in his father's footsteps by joining the Army in 1971-1974. Chuck Jr. also inherited his father's strong family values and love for golf.
Lovingly known as "Granddad" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he passed on his love for God and his kind-hearted ways. Sitting on the floor quietly watching their granddad play the guitar and sing is one of their favorite memories. He also inspired each of them in their own lives; Jennifer is creative and loves painting and art, Jessica went to Beauty School and became a Cosmetologist and Chuck has been playing golf since the age of five.
He was preceded in death by his wife Norma and parents, Salvatore and Margaret, and one brother, William.
Funeral Service is scheduled for October 2 at 12:30 at Moores Funeral Home, North Arlington with visitation October 2 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Elks Lodge #811 of Cleburne, TX or The Senior Activity Center in Burleson TX.
