Charles L. Boyer, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Boyer was born on October 20, 1929 in Burlington, Vermont the son of the late Armond Boyer and Hilda Metevier Boyer. He served as a Police Officer with the Bluff City Police Department and was a Constable with Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the New Beginning Fellowship Church. Mr. Boyer was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Paul and Calvin Boyer; one step son, Dwain Neeley; and one step grandson, John Emerson Neeley. Charles L. Boyer, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Boyer was born on October 20, 1929 in Burlington, Vermont the son of the late Armond Boyer and Hilda Metevier Boyer. Mr. Boyer was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Paul and Calvin Boyer; one step son, Dwain Neeley; and one step grandson, John Emerson Neeley. Survivors include, his wife of forty-three years, Margie Boyer; one son, Gregory Boyer; one daughter, Pamala Boyer; several grandchildren; three step children, Roger Neeley, Gene Neeley and John Neeley; one sister, Matilda Horn; four step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many remaining relatives in the Vermont and New Hampshire area. The family will receive friend's Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5:00pm until 6:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services for Mr. Charles L. Boyer will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 6:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Leland Salyer officiating. Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10:00am in the Garden of Mausoleum at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Margie Boyer. East Lawn Funeral Home, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN 37664; 423-288-2081; is honored to be serving the Boyer family.
