CHUCK BRANDON HIRED ME AT THE NATIONAL JAYCEE HEADQUARTERS. HE ENABLED ME TO DO SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFETIME. I PERIODICALLY STAYED IN TOUCH HIM THROUGH THE YEARS.

I HAD SENT HIM A COPY OF MY MEMOIR A FEW YEARS AGO, AND HE TOLD ME IT INSPIRED HIM TO DO ONE OF HIS OWN, I HOPE HE COMPLETED IT.

TO RUTH AND HIS FAMILY, I WISH YOU PEACE AND COMFORT, AND FOND MEMORIES, YOU TOGETHER HAVE LIVED A WONDERFUL LIFE.

WITH WARM THOUGHTS, JIM AND STEPHANIE NIELSEN

With Chuck, it was all about service and helping his fellow man which is why he became an association & non-profit executive. He and I first worked together when we managed various state associations and regional conventions for the National Propane Gas Association. Chuck was the consummate professional who knew when to follow the rules and when to bend them to make members successful. The best thing about Chuck was that he stayed in touch even when he did not have to. I found him to be a wonderful listener with sound advice and a gentle sense of humor. He and his wife, Ruth, were such a motivational team both professionally and in private. I am proud that he touched my life in so many ways.

What a joy it was to be with Chuck, and Ruth! they both took care of each one of us exhibiting in the Atlanta Show for the NPGA. And we were grateful for their support for the Alabama PGA. Chuck was a dear friend that will be missed. He so loved the propane industry and working on the Southeast Show. It was never the same after he retired. He was such a people person and dearly loved helping everyone. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, but know he is now in God's hands.

I am honored to have known Chuck and to call him my sweet friend. He had such a big heart. Whenever we talked or emailed, he ALWAYS asked about the girls and always wanted me to send him a new picture. He was so excited for me this past year when I got married...he wanted to know all about this man I now call my husband. He was a wonderful father figure to so many of us. Thank you for sharing this sweet man with us!
