Obituary

Charles Andrew Bridenhager passed away June 4, 2013, at Reid Hospice. He was born in Liberty to Judge George L. and Pauline M. Siebenthal Bridenhager on June 29th, 1931. Charles graduated from Short High School in 1949, Franklin College in 1954, and from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1956. He served in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Colonel in 1985. He was a solo practitioner of dentistry in Liberty from 1958-1994. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ and active in the Liberty Breakfast Optimists Club. He was raised as a Master Mason on November 19th, 1962, in Liberty Lodge #58 of the Free and Accepted Masons....

He was born in Liberty to Judge George L. and Pauline M. Siebenthal Bridenhager on June 29th, 1931. Charles graduated from Short High School in 1949, Franklin College in 1954, and from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1956. He served in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Colonel in 1985. He was a solo practitioner of dentistry in Liberty from 1958-1994. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ and active in the Liberty Breakfast Optimists Club. He was raised as a Master Mason on November 19th, 1962, in Liberty Lodge #58 of the Free and Accepted Masons. He served as Master of the Lodge in 2011 and received his 50 year award on December 3rd, 2012. He was active in the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and York Rite in Connersville; where he served as Past High Priest of Maxwell Chapter, Past Illustrious Master of Fayette Council, and Past Commander of Connersville Commandery.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years Lillian Frances Pomeroy Bridenhager; a brother and his wife: George Franklin Bridenhager and Marietta of Franklin; his daughters and their spouses: Paulette Worcester and Richard of Liberty, Lillian Kathleen Schmidt and Vernon of Connersville, Mary Ellen Habertheir and Jack of Cocoa Beach, FL, Laura Daniel and Tim of Cincinnati, OH, and Margaret Jackson and Kevin of Brookville, IN; his grandchildren and their spouses: Wendi McClellan and Mike of Liberty, Doug Whiting of Indianapolis, Nicole Harcourt and Alex of Indianapolis, Megan Worcester of Madrid, Spain, Andrew Bias of Maricopa, AZ, Matthew Bias of Brookville, Frances Habertheir of Cocoa Beach, FL, Colton Jackson, and Lillian Jackson, both of Brookville, and two great-grandchildren: Justin and Grace McClellan of Liberty.

Public visitation will be conducted at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel in Liberty, on Friday, June 7th, 2013 from 5-8pm with Masonic services at 7:30pm. Interment will be in Dunlapsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts may be made to the Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Union County Foundation.
