Peoria- Charles D. "Joe" Bruett, age 71, of Peoria, passed away on March 18, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Hospital. Born Feb. 19, 1943 in Peoria, he was a son to the late Charles and Grace Berner-Bruett. Charles worked in maintenance personnel at Mt. Hawley Country Club for 27 years. He was a member of the Central Illinois Cruisers Car Club, Inc. Charles will be remembered for his love of cars, fishing, hunting, and boating. He is survived by two daughters: Kristi (Kevin) Carrington of Mapleton, and Rachel (Mike) Bowermaster of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren: Joshua, Kayelynn, and Alexis Carrington, Maddie, Grace, Audrey, and Luke...

He was a member of the Central Illinois Cruisers Car Club, Inc. Charles will be remembered for his love of cars, fishing, hunting, and boating.

He is survived by two daughters: Kristi (Kevin) Carrington of Mapleton, and Rachel (Mike) Bowermaster of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren: Joshua, Kayelynn, and Alexis Carrington, Maddie, Grace, Audrey, and Luke Bowermaster; one brother Norman Bruett of Lawton, OK; three nieces and three nephews: Vincent, Shelly, Debbie, Louanne, Chad, and Lindsey.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 2:00 PM until time of Funeral service at 3:00 PM at Schmidt Haller Burial and Cremation Services, 1625 West Candle Tree Drive, Peoria IL 61614. Pastor Steve Graffis will officiate and burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.

Funeral services were made under the direction of Schmidt Haller Burial and Cremation Services.
