Charles Glennie Campbell, Sr. of Williamston, NC died May 12, 2012 after an extended illness at Vidant Medical Center. A native of Beaufort County, he was born March 16, 1926, the Son of the late Cottie Pilley and William Eldon Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Everett Campbell, His Daughter Pamela C. He was preceded in death by Brothers Cyril E. Campbell and Hugh E. Campbell, Sisters Martha C. Godley, Esther Nowell and half Brothers Jackson, Wendell and Henry Haddock.

Charles served in the US Army and was veteran of World Was II in the Gennan Theatre. For 63 years Charles owned and operated Brown-Campbell interiors in Williamston, and was president and owner of Motor Inns of Carolina for 42 years. He was an emeritus member of the Board of Directors for First Citizens Bank. An avid pilot for many years, ,he loved to fly. He attened the Memorial Baptist Church in Williamston and First Baptist Church in Washington, NC
The Family will receive friends, Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston and the Funeral will be Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 11:00am at Biggs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, NC
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks at Charles request that any memorials be made to the Blind Center of Washington, NC or the Humane Society of Martin, Pitt, or Beaufort County.
