Charles T. Church II, 91, of Stuart, FL passed away on April 7, 2012. Mr. Church was born in New York City. He had been a resident of Stuart for the past 41 years after moving up from Miami. Charles attended St. Marks School in Southborough, MA before attending Princeton and graduating from the University of Miami. He was the national Supervisor of Media for Junior Citizens for Dwight Eisenhower's successful presidential campaign. Charles T. Church II, 91, of Stuart, FL passed away on April 7, 2012.

Mr. Church was born in New York City. He had been a resident of Stuart for the past 41 years after moving up from Miami. Charles attended St. Marks School in Southborough, MA before attending Princeton and graduating from the University of Miami. He was the national Supervisor of Media for Junior Citizens for Dwight Eisenhower's successful presidential campaign. Prior to retirement, he was a businessman involved in real estate and a small chain of retail stores. Charlie(as his friends and family knew him) served as a medic in World War II.

In his youth, Charlie was a very good competitive figure skater. He became an angler at a young age fishing with his father and uncles in the Florida Keys during the 1920s and '30s. A couple of his favorite accomplishments was catching the first white marlin off Montauk Point, Long Island and years later placing 5th in the 1957 Cat Cay Tuna Tournament. Charlie was an excellent tennis player for most of his life, winning numerous amateur tournaments and championships. He was an avid and accomplished salt and freshwater fly fisherman. Charlie and his wife Ginny spent summers and falls in West Yellowstone, Montana for the better part of 40 years acquiring many friends.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia; son John F. Church and his companion Judith C. Erickson, of Sebastian, FL; daughter Alice S. Church and her companion Debra Hodson of Alamo, CA and Coral Springs, FL; son Frederic E. Church and wife Lynn Church of MT; and grandson Scott F. Church of Lakeland, FL.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia N. Church.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Aycock Funeral Home, 505 S. Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34994.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
