Mick and I were blessed to have Charles as a wonderful friend,....neighbors at Ft. Bragg....so many good times with him and Nancy....not enough room to tell all the great stories. The friendship continued for 50 years and the memories will last forever....they attended my husband's chapel, came home, picked up our baby and the rocking chair...walked across the street, smiling with our darling baby girl.I drove off to the later service, smiling, as well....their love, thoughfulness, kindness was always a part of their lives.

As attorney for ERAU, it was my pleasure to have frequent opportunities to work with Chuck regarding the expansion of the facilities of the University. His intelligence and expertise were supplemented by his sense of order and discipline, a reflection of his previous military career. His work for ERAU made a significant contribution to its success and growth. I am one of the many who will miss this good man. Philip H. Elliott, Jr.

It was certainly a privilege to know someone like Col. Charles Fountain. Those who knew him will agree with me that he was an authentic Christian, a devoted husband, an excellent father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a faithful friend.

On a personal basis, Chuck and I spent many hours together, working on church committees, eating in restaurants, sharing our Christian experiences, praying and praising God.

Chuck was a genuine soldier of the cross of Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord passionately. As a result of that, he was always ready to help his friends and the strangers who came into contact with him. I will miss him very much, but I rejoice at the thought that he is with his heavenly father where, according to Revelation 21:4, "...there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away". And as the late George Pace would say: "Chuck, I will see you in the morning, at the feet of Jesus".
