HARWICH C. David Heath, of Harwich, passed away April 22, 2014. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 58 years, Judith M. (Ludwig) Heath, his daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and James Clifford III, and his granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Clifford. He was predeceased by his brother, Malcolm. C. David Heath, of Harwich, passed away April 22, 2014. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 58 years, Judith M. (Ludwig) Heath, his daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and James Clifford III, and his granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Clifford. He was predeceased by his brother, Malcolm.

He was born to the late Grace and Charles W. Heath, April 11, 1935, in Northampton, MA. He grew up in Williamsburg ("Burgy"), MA, where he graduated from high school in 1953. He served in the United States Air Force as an electronics technician and in special weapons. In 1956, he eloped with his sweetheart, Judy. After serving in the USAF, he used the GI Bill to attend UMASS–Amherst. In 1962, he graduated with honors with a BS in electrical engineering. He and Judy moved to NY where he spent the next 30 years working for IBM. He worked there in various engineering and management positions. He particularly enjoyed his work in fiber optics development and his contributions to IBM Fiber Optics hardware. In 1977, he earned an MS in industrial administration from Union College, NY. He was an avid skier, a master gardener, and a golfer. He also loved reading, sailing, and fishing. He caught "the big one," last Fall-a 40-inch striped bass-in the waters off Provincetown.

In 1996, he and Judy, retired to Cape Cod. Dave loved singing and was proud to have been a selected member of the musical group, the Chatham Chorale, for 10 years. He had been a member of the Notables, We Are the Men, and the Mid-Cape Chorus. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir for most of his life. He loved golfing with friends, gardening in the yard, fishing with his son-in-law, playing with his granddaughter, and taking walks on the beach and spending time with his loving wife and dog.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10 at 11AM at Brewster Baptist Church, Brewster, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Choice Hospice, 123 Waterhouse Rd., Bourne, MA or The Chatham Chorale, PO Box 1111, W. Dennis, MA 02670.
